It’s that time of the year again: SPIEL ’17

You probably noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here lately. Sad as it is, sometimes the rest of life interferes with our ability to play games, and recently it’s done so quite vigorously around the Meeple Cave. Some of those interferences were happy events, others less so. But some of the later ones are clearing up, and we hope to get back to a more consistent posting schedule after the Essen fair. Which brings me to the point of the post.

Essen. The big event of the boardgaming year. Gamer Christmas. The date we’ve been waiting for all year. And of course we’ll be there! I’m excited like a kid going to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, and that’s despite having an 11-dimensional spreadsheet to map when I should go where and why. Seriously, I wish I could set the GPS on my phone to find the most efficient path to see every new game I’m interested in. But apparently Android can’t solve the Traveling Salesman Problem. Boo! So we had to do some manual labor.

The fair is bigger than ever before this year, so the old strategy of walking around to see what we can find is not going to work. We might miss something, and that would be bad. So we’ll be busy, but we’re not fully booked. If you have a booth in Essen and we should stop by to chat about games just drop us a line here or on Facebook and we’ll come and find you. Or just stop us when you see us. We should still be the only ones walking around in our fancy Meople’s Magazine tees.

All our readers going to Essen as visitors: what are you most excited to see? Let us know what you think are the best new games, we wouldn’t want to miss anything just because we didn’t know about it.

See you in Essen, all those that are going, and read you afterwards everyone else!
