Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

It’s already that time again. Wasn’t the Essen fair just yesterday? And now another year is coming to an end. I must apologize for just dropping from the face of the Earth like we did in the middle of December. Between health issues in the family and many smaller things that popped up and tried to turn themselves into a nuisance, this has been a very stressful year for Sizinha and me, your primary hosts here at the Meeple Cave. When December came around, we just had to take a break and unwind for a while.

I don’t want to bitch too much about 2013, though. Many awesome things have happened as well. Four of our crew got married this year – in two separate sets – and we wish them all the best. Two others had their first kid, and it’s the most adorable mini-meeple you could ever hope to see. I had my first book published. It has nothing to do with boardgames, but it was a very rewarding experience nevertheless. So, 2014, if you could dial down on the stress a little that would be great, but other than that you have a pretty good example to follow.

For this year, there is nothing left to do but wish all of you a Merry Christmas. Take some time to relax. Spend time with old friends and family, you might regret it later in your life if you don’t. It’s perfectly fine for that time to include playing games, too – unless your family has the sort of people that throw games in the fire if they lose. Not that anyone in my family ever did that. And have a great start of 2014 as well. We’ll be back in January with a more regular posting schedule.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
