  • Colt Express

A train robbery can really ruin your day if you’re one of the passengers. Six bandits trying to rob your train at the same time, but working against each other? With a Marshal thrown in ot fend them off? That’s actually pretty hilarious to watch. And on the gorgeous 3D train of Colt Express, it’s even more fun. All of the chaos, in three dimensions.

  • Leaping Lemmings

If there’s anything everyone knows about Lemmings, it’s that they have suicidal tendencies and enjoy the occasional long walk towards a short cliff. That’s what six scientists thought when making a bet about whose lemmings would leap further. Initially, the rodents proved more sane than the scientists in question, but a few generations of genetic tampering later, the Lemmings were happily leaping. Or being eaten by eagles, dead is dead.

  • Space Alert

Space is big. Big and empty. That’s what our science teachers told us. It’s also dead – and deadly – wrong. Wherever our exploration vessel shows up, nasty things are just waiting to blow us up. To get back in one piece, all players have to cooperate and deal with a tight time limit while the computer is yelling at them about everything going wrong.

  • A Game of Gnomes

Every year Fragor Games releases one game, designed by the Lamont brothers and produced with ridiculously pretty ceramic miniatures. Last year, that game was A Game of Gnomes. It’s what it says on the box: a game, and about gnomes. Except the title and some puns in the rule book, it has nothing to do with that other A Game of …. Something that everyone is talking about, but it has a lot to do with mushrooms. And it has the largest single component in any game we have here at the Meeple Cave.

  • Sea of Clouds

The right combination of two familiar game mechanics can create something new and fun. Sea of Clouds combines a drafting game with a press-your-luck mechanic. If you enjoy only one of those, then this game is definitely worth your time because it combines the best parts of them. And it does that while letting you loot the skies as a flying pirate, if you needed any more convincing.

  • The Gnomes of Zavandor

Zavandor, the land of gem mining. After Mines of Zavandor, Gnomes of Zavandor is the second mining-themed set title in the fantasy world. Unlike its predecessor, Gnomes of Zavandor has a strictly economical engineat its core.

  • Power Grid: The First Sparks

For the 10th anniversary of the legendary Power Grid, designer Friedemann Friese came up with something special: he transported the games mechanics to the Stone Age. Gone are the days of burning coal, now you go hunt mammoths.

  • Loch Ness

Fog still lies over the Loch, the early morning was silent a minute ago. Now, the silence is disturbed by a stampede of photographers, running around the lake, setting up their cameras. Because, once more, Nessie has been spotted, and all the papers want the best photos.
