  • Steam Park

In Roboburg, the robotic inhabitants work every day of the year, without vacations, without weekends. Except for six days every year when the robo fair comes to town. Then all the robots go and have fun on the fair rides. There’s a lot of money to be made for you as a fair owner, that’s for sure. If you can just attract the right crowd.

  • Docker

Small and quick games – we don’t write about them much just because they are small and quick. But we all play them. Between other games. Before dinner. Sitting in a pub waiting for people to show up. And then, sometimes, we do write about them.

  • Checkpoint Charlie

The 1960s are upon us. Beatlemania. Marilyn Monroe. Breakfast at Tiffanys.
In Berlin, however, a wall not only divides two cities – it separates worlds. Nowhere on the planet are the two superpowers closer, their differences more visible. Beneath the surface, however, it is the similarities which are equally striking. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the few checkpoints between West and East Berlin, heavily guarded and watched. It was also the central checkpoint through which Spies passed from one sector to the other. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sniff around for the Chief of Spies trying to make it through Checkpoint Charlie undetected. And you can take the sniffing quite literally, as each player assumes the role of a dog, representing the K-9 division.

  • The Game

This is the game you will never find on Google. Because the name of the game is The Game, and that’s just not very distinctive. The Game is a cooperative card game that was nominated for the 2015 Spiel des Jahres. It’s small and abstract, but that doesn’t say anything about how much fun it is.

  • Five Tribes

Bruno Cathala and Days of Wonder take us to Naqala, a magical kingdom straight out of Arabian Nights if Arabian Nights had included meeples. Which it should have. Five Tribes is one of the most talked about games of the last year, and after testing it extensively we understand why.

  • Dungeon Fighter

Dungeon crawler games tend to be dice rolling festivals: you find a monster, you throw a die and either you die or the monster dies. Dungeon Fighter is not so different from that, only now you throw the dice on a target, and whether you hit or not is much more important than what face the die shows.

  • i9n

i9n, or "Information" is a deduction game that uses punch cards to give new, hidden information during the game. It also adds some strategy and a bit of luck to the mix, making it a very fun game that certainly won’t be the last one to employ this new mechanic.
