  • Fields of Arle

Fields of Arle is Uwe Rosenberg’s love letter to the home of his ancestors, East Frisia and especially the village of Arle. It’s a worker placement game that is unusual in not allowing more than two players, but is equally unusual in the number of options you have and factors to consider. It’s a big game, a long game, and a game that brings many aspects of medieval Frisia to life.

  • A Fistful of Penguins

If “A Fistful of Penguins” makes you think of a western set in the Antarctic, then you’re in for a disappointment. If you’re looking for a family-friendly dice game, then you could do much worse.

  • Haggis

Haggis the card game has about as much to do with the Scottish national dish as Tichu the Chinese card game has with China. Haggis the card game does have a whole lot to do with Tichu the card game, but with enough differences to make it an interesting game although you might know Tichu already.

  • Onitama

There once was an onmyo master, a teller of fortune and summoner of spirits. This onmyo master had two children, both thinking only they deserve to inherit his title. And so the two children fight, with the spirits they summon, over who is the greater summoner and thus deserving of the title. That’s the short story behind the Onitama, an abstract game that barely takes longer than telling its story.

  • Lewis & Clark – The Expedition

In 1804, shortly after president Jefferson purchased half the North American continent from Napoleon, the Lewis and Clark expedition set out to survey just what the president had acquired. Or should that be “the Lewis and Clark expeditions”? As it turns out, up to five expeditions may have competed to get to the Pacific coast first, and only the first to arrive, cleverly recruiting expedition members and managing their resources, will be remembered by history.

  • Black Hat

There have been many different ideas to spice up trick-taking games over the years. Black Hat’s way to do that is to add a game board where you move your pawns when you take a trick. A lot then depends on proper timing, you want to take a trick when moving on the board is the most beneficial for you.

  • Broom Service

Potion delivery is big business. A bit like pizza delivery, only with more magic, and on broomsticks. That is your business in Broom Service, but the competition is tough and you won’t have time to let your brooms cool down before the day is over. So keep a close eye on what your opponents are doing and use your witches and druids to deliver the most potions before the game is over.
