  • Anno Domini

Although we do like our deep, strategic games, not all games have to be that to be fun. In fact, when done well, even very simple games involving trivia knowledge can be a ton of fun.

  • Smash Up: Awesome Level 9000

Smash Up is already an over-the-top card game, but with the expansion, it gets even better. Four new factions join the fray: Plants, Ghosts, Steampunks and the Bear Cavalry.
But are those four worthy to fight on your side?

  • Höyük

The human race has never been peaceful, competition is written into our genes. Even back in the stone age, when we just started abandoning easily movable tents for more permanent dwellings, there was competition for having the biggest house, highest up the hill. That’s what is happening in Höyük, neolithic clans competing for the finest mansions.

  • La Isla

A mysterious island has recently been discovered in the middle of the ocean. In its own way, it’s a very wealthy island. Not with oil, or gold. The island is home to five species of animal that were thought extinct. And as you set foot on La Isla, your goal is to capture some of them.

  • Qwixx

The first nominee for this year’s Spiel des Jahres award, a light but clever dice game by Steffen Benndorf. While some luck is obviously involved, there are also decisons to be made at every corner.

  • Smash Up

The ultimate question about life, the universe and everything can finally be answered. Who would win in a fight, Pirates or Ninjas? 42. Sorry, doesn’t make sense after all. But at least you can answer all the other big questions as well. Dinosaurs or Robots? Aliens or Zombies? All that and more now has an answer, and the answer is Smash Up.

  • al-Rashid

The empire of Caliph Harun al-Rashid was one of the biggest and most advanced of its time. Exactly the place for you to make a name, and loads of money, for yourself. But be careful, being successful and having friends were not easily compatible even back in the days of Arabian Nights.

  • Docker

Small and quick games – we don’t write about them much just because they are small and quick. But we all play them. Between other games. Before dinner. Sitting in a pub waiting for people to show up. And then, sometimes, we do write about them.
